When the Mind Speaks

I. When the Mind Speaks like a Prophet

when the mind speaks like a prophet
let it, for it comes
from the hearth of experience

if love, compassion  and peace be outcast,
for lust, greed and violence to take root

there may be a price to pay
may be you, or maybe me
does it make a difference?

to remember Truth is not in the eyes
of the man or the woman,
you may chose to share a lifetime with
or your children, or parents, or friends
or of the stranger, in trepidation

Truth is that which comes to you
in the most lone-some moments-
you have come alone and would
go back alone

yet, only a conscious love, a forgiving
compassion can redeem your life, and
another’s - there’s space for all
on this planet and beyond...

be not the element that spreads violence
and hate, rather be it love and peace,

laugh at me, if you may
but there may come a day,
you may sit and think.
and I shall not laugh at you,
for I have been there
not once, not twice…I have lost count!

II. A plea to the God of Inner Wars

one fine morning, oblivious as I were
I set myself on a road. As in a dream
not knowing there lay a road ahead
an abundance lay before me,
and no path

with every onward step,
the path had cleared
and on that path I came to know
love
on that path I came to know
joy
on that path I came to know
peace
on that path I came to know
sin
on that path I came to know
anger
on that path I came to know
sorrow

difficult was the path, as it is
I embrace the side of love and peace,
joy keeps me company at its own will
sin, anger and sorrows
have lost their way, yet arrive off guard

deal with them , the god of inner wars
when the little demons come your way
