MEN AND WOMEN IN 'LOVE'

As said, the Certain Kind of Woman is at a poetry workshop. She has not completed it. But in the course, she found herself writing this. Do not know which form it is – poem, poetry, prose or prosetry….If any one has an idea, please let me know via a comment.. ;-)

This is my best I wrote I feel…and the fastest.

Men in Love

All men are not alike in love and life
They have their own means and ways
As paper-ships along the marine shores
They seek their own fated trips and tours
…Only to know that they reach the same shore

Some men - they fall in gentle love
Before marriage, even before their age
As ships try shoving while anchored to
A shore that shuns the raging risky seas
…Never knowing that calm shores offers no solace

Some men- they fall in messy love
Before marriage, but about a certain age
As ships just let off the anchor they held
They just swirl in slimy fizz and froth
….Not knowing that sea shells hold lustrous pearls

Some men – they fall in tidy love
In marriage, just in the most ripe of age
As ships steer clearing off their way
Across the oceans to their destined shores
…Just knowing that fun lies in steering the course

Some men – they fall in extra love
After marriage, in the most wrong of age
As ships go astray in a windy sea
Only to strike and beat the icebergs
…Yet, knowing that love and life means the same

my NB to Women:

Girls, misses, madams and sisters
Lovers have their issues and problems
Know that they were once in real love
And that a man in love don’t ogle at other
Women, when he sits with his kind

My past love, he was my kind
A terribly serious kind, with his share of
Troubles that we never said, but
You may know that

It’s only the ‘ungles’ who do ogle
Haps, when they see a friendly look
Of the second sex, they lose their sense..
So my dear, make sure you
Wear a goggle when you look at them

Women in Love

Women in love are the silliest kind
Not knowing that they are in love
With love, they just give their hand
In dance, to the funny tunes played by men

Yet, those women who know
Are a Certain Kind
The destined dancers they seem
Of all the stage the world may be

A decidedly enticing dancer, she may
Chose any man for a spin, the men but
Not knowing holds the dancer, who swirls
Them off to sheer vanity –only for a fall!

my NB to Men:

Boys, lovers and husbands
Beware of women, they
The creators can also be assassins
Especially the Certain Kinds
That keeps men dancing to their tunes

But me, a silly, serious kind
No! I shan’t show me more…

But this Certain Kind of Woman

– *a lingering…. summer love*-
Falls each time a real man falls
But may still rise to give a hand
For his rise, not for a dance, but for a song…
A song that rise and fall just as

Time in Motion…

----------------------------------------.

PS: *lingering….. summer love* -- my twin squirrel passed this on to me after visiting my friend Janice Thomson saying he heard it among a noise. I don’t know what it meant, but my twin said it suited me. So I have used it. Janice Thomson, any clue? ;-))

Wow! This is a masterpiece and can be very easily related to!

"Some men - they fall in gentle love, Before marriage, even before their age, As ships try shoving while anchored to a shore that shuns the raging risky seas, Never knowing that calm shores offers no solace"

Which is perhaps the closest I can relate to ;)

Falling in love is a wonderful feeling, one that surpasses all feelings that I have ever known! It is a state of pure bliss where every shade looks richer than it actually is, where every action seems motivated by a sweet reason and where being happy is an act of spontaniety!

But then comes experience, for experience is te best teacher, the only problem being that the test comes first and the lesson later ;)

And the poor heart, is also just another muscle and becomes tougher by withstand the turmoil of a split..... so said a wise friend ;)

Amazing post Ma'am....... Wonderful

Cheers

A deeply meditative stance!:) The big question of love!? You’ve covered it all!:) There is, I guess, such a thing as ‘special love’. It’s not so much the domain of men and women but, rather, of ‘energetic consorts’!:)

Gosh this is wonderful Devika! So much to think about here...

In regards to "lingering...a summer love": in summer when the nights are hot and passionate, the moon shining brightly, one can perhaps too easily fall in love. But then, like a reflection of the autumn season, it may die away for one of the lovers but for the other the autumn season brings back those now haunting and poignant memories. The photo of that post showed a heart carved permanently in the tree by the lover who is still in love.
Hope that helps :)

loved the theme..!!

~~All men are not alike in love and life~~ all women too..i can vouch for that..!! :)

~~…Only to know that they reach the same shore~~

i doubt..they never reach the shore..!!

~~It’s only the ‘ungles’ who do ogle
Haps, when they see a friendly look
Of the second sex, they lose their sense..
So my dear, make sure you
Wear a goggle when you look at them~~

:) :)

PS: so as per 'a certain kind of woman' there was no pointers towards the kind of love 'real men' are into..?!!

The best of yours. I enjoyed reading them. These are like good reminders to men and women.

"All men are not alike in love and life
They have their own means and ways
As paper-ships along the marine shores
They seek their own fated trips and tours
…Only to know that they reach the same shore"

The same goes to women I feel.

LOVE is something very special and unique. It is not that easy to be described. It is an art. Different person has different perception.

Hope you are feeling better now. Take care.

Good post! I feel that we are all different but people always attract
the same type of person to them self unless they can change inside and it is very difficult to change the way that you are.

Thanks for the comments on my blog!

Excellent Devika, an astute essay
on the types of Love and the certain kind of men and woman who
love in different ways at very
different times in their lives.

It does feel wonderful when someone
falls in love with me, I feel so
special and excited deep within.

You seem to be knowing both sides of the coin well.
Enjoyed reading and knowing your thoughts on this.

loved the post.It surely is one of the best from you.Images, and the words selected..all are perfect.Love as an emotion is always about"movement"..it is all always about that paper ship called "mind".Love is also the name of their destination too.Like columbus they always reach "destinations different" and claim that they have discovered love..
Love can also be a 'whole brain feeling' when though cease to exist.
take care.

It is a rare person who can see both sides.

Can't help but be reminded of Lord Byron's :
"Man's love is of man's life a thing apart,;
'Tis woman's whole existence."

Devika- For the type of dyslexia you have it sounds like coloured glasses might help. I do not know a lot about this but it could help you read what you have written.

Bye!

Hi Amalendu!

thank you for reading and the comment :-)

yeah, i think i know what that thing is ;-)

talking of men -- i'm less knowledgeable; do not have much friends in that category..and those whom i know are perfect gentlemen.

but what i wonder is -- i was not talking of women who 'fall' in love after marriage -- its only after writing this, it came to me that the women of our country, and elsewhere, find it very normal to have an extra-love or leave their man for the greener pastures....

thats worrying me more, in fact...

i thought i knew women's psyche more than men-- BUT, the women of our times baffles me more than men...i'm just talking in general :-)

btw, Amalendu -- if i talk frankly -- if after learning all, one were to do only right -- most of us would be saints by now..but are we??

ways of the mind -- i think i said of it in the latest one...perhaps making conclusions about a very fluid life is folly :-)

life is an interesting process, to see and to live...no?

no new ones?? i have had a peek today :-)

wishes!

Hi Devika...you explained it so well....the difficulty is assembling the attributes of love and then not tend to view it with norms, values, moral etc...

With a friend of mine we debated for long "whose love for Krishna is of greater degree, is it Radha or Meera...difficult question and difficult answer....

argument goes like this:

Radha had seen Krishna but Not Meera; hence a soul loving someone only with the eyes of imagination seem to be of greater degree...

The counter argument:

Radha knew she cannot get Krishna and still loved him; hence a soul who knows she cannot get and still love seems to be of greater degree....

my feeling: both are great in their context....

Hi Amalendu!

So you have no plans to leave me, my poet with women in him??

BUT for you, my dear Amalendu -- i am replying. I am on a break, seemingly complete break, for a very 'uncertain' time :-)

Radha, Meera and Krishna-- Radha was the lover, Meera was the kindred soul...

Radha was left to pain in vain, Meera was in ecstatic joy singing of Krishna..

comparison could perhaps go further on....

and as you say both are great in their own way..

who am i with? -- i'm with Radha --for the reason genuinely loving somebody -God or man -for just the plain joy of loving - comes easy for me.

singing my soul out for someone's a bit too difficult for me -- the act of singing itself, i mean ;-)

Now Amalendu, please leave me alone until i'm back -- if at all i decide to be..

hope you understand the woman in me :-)

wishes!

Wonderful poem, Devika. You seem to have approached 'love' from all its angles.Rather, from differing points. Makes one think about it all.

Your post shows a glimpse of your opinion on the way men and women love.

"So my dear, make sure you
Wear a goggle when you look at them"

as well as wear a google so the man could not know what you think deep in.

is that line missed ??? just teasing you.

There is a pattern to your flow thoughts . i am reading your page since last night and your thought have a flow pattern. Poet never supposed to let the reader to know the real SHE/HE. Other wise a poet or a artist will be branded and your certain kind certain woman will be well understood then there will be no purpose to wear a google

just teasing. Apologise sought for taking little liberty to tease. I like your writing. I will be regular reader here if not daily but when ever i visit will pick up from where i left.

Devika said...

Oh hoy, dear KS...

you may choose tease or please -- no issues, dear :)

i like teasing others -- and love others doing that...but that should be a tease -- not the kind of probe they do in the name of teasing, tinged with sarcasm :))

btw, the REAL SHE is not revealed yet, dear...

NOT TILL THE LAST POST HERE...
and I am thinking of starting a new blog for poetry alone...There it will not be Me or the Certain Kind speaking :))

thanks for those remarks

wishes,
devika

just after lunch, now off to work..
